The Exorcist     Bright Blessings film lovers! Classic horror film, The Exorcist has terrified people for decades with the demons, acrobatics of the actress playing a possessed child, and ingrained beliefs in demonic possession- and it’s one I just can’t get enough of. Watch this trailer here:     You wouldn’t know it to talk to me today since I am such a horror fan, but this film literally scared the ever living hell out of me when I was in high school. I was awakening psychically and had gone on a starvation diet that increased my imagination. Seeing the backwards crawl down the steps in that fateful…

Review of Dumb and Dumber   Bright Blessings Film Lovers! This time, I’m reviewing a comedy you’d think would be the last film that offered a magical lesson, but it does! I can’t count how many times I’ve watched it over the years because it’s just that good. It was released in 1994, and brought a cult following, had two spin-off films, and even a cartoon series. The film drew $247 Million at the box office, won four MTV Movie Awards, made it on Empire Magazine’s Top 500 Films of All Time, and was voted fifth greatest comedy by the readers of Total Film magazine. Not bad. Watch the…

Reservation Dogs     A wonderful new indigenous comedy is making waves on Hulu. Starring such veteran actors as Zahn McClarnon and Gary Farmer, this refreshing show is about a group of Native American teens and their days and nights at home on their reservation in Oklahoma. Bored, tired of the bad things that go on there, and to some extent, ready to get the hell away for good, the kids stick together, making the best of the worst, and making the viewers die laughing, begging for more. Here is a trailer for the show:     The magic of this film comes from the fact that it’s an…

Review of The 13th Warrior This beautiful film opens in the splendor of the ancient Middle East and we find our hero, Ahmad ibn Fahdlan, cast far away from home for having an affair with a married woman. He is banished for having an affair with a king’s wife to the land of what is called the home of the “barbarians” aka the Norsemen- Odin’s men, pagan Heathens! He and his hosts are told by a holy woman 13 men must go to the aid of Kind Hrothgar- yeah ANOTHER Hollywood take on the epic Beowulf- and the 13th Warrior will be no Northman. As a daughter of Odin,…

Review of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Bright Blessings, film lovers! This time I am reviewing a series Netflix has done three seasons of, and I have been told, are at least doing a fourth- The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. It’s supernatural fiction about Sabrina, a half human who has to come to terms with her powers, and decide how, or IF she will use them. She gets a lot of pressure from family and mentors, all of whom seek to mold her THEIR way. Sabrina is not having it. Surprisingly mature and responsible for a teenager, she, along with family and friends, navigates the treacherous, and blissful world…
