HearthBeats: Notes from a Kitchen Witch

The Happiness Project

This has been a very bad year for most of us, of all Races, religions, Faiths and Beliefs.

Depression sets in quickly and easily, with reports from our friends and family, telling us if bad happening in their lives. It has been very hard to find light in the darkness.

Even at my job someone posted a sign that read. “Due to the poor economy the light at the end of the tunnel has been shut off”.

This is a time when we struggle daily to find balance. When we find it hard to get a moments peace.

BUT this is the time when we NEED Joy, Peace and Balance the most; a time when we NEED to put a little extra effort into being positive.

Why you ask… well because we can change the world… or at least change your world. And if we all work to change our worlds then the combined world will be the better for it.

The basic principle is this—what you put out into the world is what comes back to your world….  So… what will come back to you?

HMMMM!!!! Don’t like the answer much?? The CHANGE IT. Do not put the negative out there. Make an extra effort to be positive.

Write a strong positive Ritual, maybe a Prosperity Ritual. Then do it.. that night. Do not wait till the Moon changes. Just do it again when the Moon is right.

Write a chant… a good strong positive affirmation of change. Then chant it often during your day.

Write a list of the Blessings in your life. All the good things and look at this list often… to remind you it is not THAT bad.

So Here is where the “Happiness Project” comes in.

I want each of you to look at this and apply it to your life. Share it with someone who may need it. Improve on it and pass it along.. but pass it back to me as well. So I can see how wonderful you all are and maybe improve me too.

So Here we go.. the 5 step “ Happiness Project”

  1. List 5 good things in your life. Parts of your life that bring you happiness.

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

2. List 5 people who make your life Happy. People that bring joy to your life ,
maybe make you laugh or touch your life in some way.

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

3. List 5 things that you “do” to bring happiness to your life. Activities that bring
you joy.

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

4. List 5 things that bring you joy or happiness the moment you see it/them.
Visuals that are not a daily part of your life bit will get you to smile as soon as
you see it/them.

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

5. Now list 5 people who YOU could bring happiness to.  People that you could help
or assist.

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

Now when you are done with that I want you to take a few moments for this quick meditation. Learn it so you can use it in your everyday. I have taught this to my children as well as to classes and within a group Ritual. It is very easy and helpful.

Use this when you are stressed or depressed.  Or any time you need to calm and center.

Breathe in to a count of 4

Hold this breath for a count of 4

Purse your lips like you will kiss someone .. Then slowly blow that breath out to a count of 4

Do this 4 times.. Slowly so you do not hyperventilate. You may feel light headed. It is your endorphin levels rising to calm you

So when you feel calmer, I want you to look at this list , the “happiness project” list.

Feel in your heart the Love and the Happiness that you “HAVE” in your life. See the blessings, the positives. Leave no room for negatives.

Let the stress and the panic flow away. Now you can face the issues and find a way to make positive changes.

Look inside yourself; see what you can do to make positive change in your world. This could be something as simple a complimenting someone; smiling at a stranger or holding the door open. Do something nice… something good.

My Nana used to say” You reap what you sow.”  Well this Spring/Summer sow some kindness, sow some health and prosperity. Sow the seeds of a positive attitude. Put out into the world what you want coming back into your world.

REMEMBER THIS… You are the only one who can control you; your actions and reactions set the stage for you to dance.

So dance like no one is looking.

Find joy in every moment.

Let no one drag you down.

Love like there is no tomorrow.

Be Glorious and have a blessed day and a better tomorrow

Until next time
