New Faery Story – The Land of Cassari
The Land of Cassari
by Kelpie Sunpearl
HI EVERYONE! MY NAME IS KELPIE SUNPEARL! Oh, oops.. hehe. Sorry for the shouting, I’m just reallllly excited that I get to tell all of you about my homeland of Cassari! A nice lady by the name of Miss Jennifer asked my human friend Cyndi Pilcher if she knew anyone that wanted to tell all the humans all about Cassari! So, she suggested ME, and sent a message to me. Let me tell you how STUNNED I was first of all. I mean of ALLL the Fae she could have chosen, she chose me!? Instead of Orchid or Petunia or even Lady Selanene!? I will have to ask her next time I see her why she chose me cause I am the silliest choi……ohhhhh maybe that’s why!! Cuz let me tell you people…the other three – they are wayyyyy too serious to tell stories! I fall asleep every time any of them do story-time over by Kassena’s statue!
Ok so! First, I guess you wanna know about me! Like I said, my name is Kelpie Sunpearl and I live in Kluet Bay which is off the coast of Birchwood Grove. Birchwood Grove is the main town of fae here on Cassari, but I will get to that later. I only stand about three feet tall, I have really loooooong hair that shimmers bright blue and kelp green with little bits of white, JUST like the Bay! My eyes are big and round and silvery white. My wings are GORGEOUS! They sparkle and shine and are many shades of blue and green! Depending on how the sun hits them will decide what color or colors you see! I love to wear dresses that spin and flutter as I walk or fly, but on occasion I will wear really soft, light pants with matching blouses. Everybody says I am such a girlie fae, and YEP I am! Not ashamed either hehe. Anyhoo! Let us get back to what I’m supposed to be talking about cuz I could go on and on about myself!
Kluet Bay covers from the coast of Birchwood Grove on the east side of Cassari, goes North a little ways to Whylde Wharf, flows towards the west, passing under the Crystal Chain (a bunch of little islands with crystal fae creatures), and continues west til it hits the coast of Trynn, the ONLY human town on Cassari. Merfolk, Water Fae, fish, and all kinds of other water creatures live in the Bay and some even venture into the Enchanted Expanse which goes from the other coast of Birchwood Grove, flows past Mayth Saeryn (where most of the elves live), runs north ,and joins with the Krylan Expanse.
Lots of big words there huh! No worries though. Soon enough you will have them conquered and be pronouncing them like a true Fae!
Ok so, hmmm. Birchwood Grove will be next! BWG is a beautiful town nestled in the middle of a HUGE, but GOOOORGEOUS grove of Birch (duh hehe!), Cedar, Oak, and Willow trees. The Cedar and Oak make up most of the border around BWG and the Birch, along with smaller trees and bushes make up a bit. The Willows are mostly around Faery Loch, Ethereal Lagoon, Enchanted Expanse and Kluet Bay. They reallllly enjoy hanging over the water areas! And the types of Fae? Oh….my….GOODNESS! SOOO many types of Fae! They have Flower Fae (and YES some are grouped into TYPE of flower), Fae for different trees, and Fae that take care of the animals! There are even Fae that are merchants and have special talents, (like Twig is {is name is actually Tyler but we call him Twig}, a merchant with his dad. They get everyone general goods and sometimes Twig can find exotic items; Coppershade works with leather and hide and sometimes metal! BWG also has tailors and such). There is a GIGANTIC Redwood that fills the center of BWG and it is called The Knowledge Tree – It’s our version of a library – and is run by three AMAZING Fae. The Librarian/Scholar/Keeper is Orchid Starwing and her two assistants are Petina and Petula – twins obviously. Then there are the four Elders, led by Selanene Moonblossom, one of THE most stunning Fae I have ever ever seen. She is the oldest and has been around for many many moon cycles {she’s reallllly old hehe}. She has long silvery hair that shimmers like moonlight and deep blue eyes that rival the deepest blue of the ocean. She has beautiful silvery-white wings with slivers of black that run through the middle and around the edges.
{PHEW this is a lot of stuff but I promise I’m not telling all at once!}
There are the Fae that do basic every day things to keep BWG clean and tidy, the hunters, and then there is the Eosai – that is the elite Druid and Ranger corps made up of Faeries and Elves – they protect the grove. They kinda scare me …well most of them scare me. Most of them are so SERIOUS. Trying to get them to smile is like tryin to pry a nut from a squirrel’s paws!
Within BWG is Faery Loch and Ethereal Lagoon which is where a couple of Merfolk pods stay instead of being out in the Bay or the bigger areas of water. Faery Loch is the smaller of the two and pours into Kluet Bay by way of Enchanted Creek, which turns into Faery Falls! Ethereal Lagoon is on the East side of BWG and flows into Enchanted Expanse. Now, there is a brook called Bogbeast Brook, or The Triple B, that starts somewhere in The Mopes, which is North of BWG and is just as it sounds! Everything in it is mopey and gloomy and gross! BLECH! {More on this disgusting place laters.} Anyway, the Triple B runs through The Mopes, then into BWG. Around the middle of the Grove, the Triple B splits into two. One is called the Enchanted Creek, which runs down the west side of BWG and into the Faery Loch. The other is called the Jade Lotus River (due to the ten tons of Jade and Lotus flowers). This one makes its way gently into the Ethereal Lagoon, moves through it, then continues on to the east side of BWG and turns into the White-Water Cascades, which dump into the Enchanted Expanse!
Okay! I think that is enough for today but I will finish off this bit with a picture a friend took the other day when we were at the Enchanted Creek!
Mermaid Kisses and Faerie Wishes! Until next time ~Kelpie~
