A World Re-Enchanted April 2025
The flowers of spring are now in full bloom as the days grow longer and the weather warmer. The winter season has passed as spring continues assert its influence and time upon the world of Arda. Spring is a time of great change and as the vitality of the world grows again, the world is ready for prosperity and change.
The month of April focuses on Youth which is viewed differently among the races of Arda. For example, the Hobbits can be described as being carefree and innocent focused on the simple pleasures of the shire. The Hobbits are not considered adults until 33 years old. As a result of this youthfulness, it can also be a period of recklessness, immaturity and impulsiveness as displayed by Pippin who often gets into trouble due to this character trait.
The Elves being long lived do not often display the downside qualities of youth found in say Hobbits or Men, their youthful traits are demonstrated in different ways. The manner in which their youth manifests is in appearance and demeanor even when they are centuries old. They are also depicted as being young, lithe and of agile figure. So, for the Elves their youthful nature is found in their bodies.
In Humans youth is demonstrated in a more direct sense of maturity and responsibility. This is best shown by Aragorn who despite having a stern and solemn face, yet also has moments of humor, laughter, and genuine friendship. The humans not being as long lived as either the Hobbits or the Elves must make the most of their lives and as such this is how their youth is shown.

Full Moon of April – Isilvíressë
This full moon belongs to the Valar Tulkas and is known as the Moon of Youth. As Tulkas is considered the strongest of the Valar and cannot know defeat this moon presents practitioners a fantastic opportunity to work protection, overcome and banish fear.
Additionally, this moon symbolizes vitality, potential, a connection to the divine.
Furthermore, it represents a fresh start, a time of boundless possibilities and is also associated with spiritual awakening
Valar of April is Tulkas
Tulkas is the youngest of the Valar as he was the last one to descend to Arda. Tulkas is married to Nessa who is known for swiftness and who has a fondness for flowers. It was after their wedding at which there was a great feast that he fell asleep and this was in a time before the Children of Ilúvatar had awoken on Arda.
After the Children of Ilúvatar awoke and Melkor was still free on Arda a council of the Valar was called and there they decided that Melkor must be dealt with much to the delight of Tulkas.
It was during the Battle of Powers that Tulkas fought him and eventually bound with the chains Angainor forged in the Halls of Mandos. When Melkor was eventually thrown through the Doors of Night into the timeless void he was still bound in those chains and he will remain there until Dagor Dagorath.
When the final battle comes it will be Tulkas who will again battle Melkor and finally finish him once and for all.
Aside from enjoying to do battle Tulkas has many other qualities that are desired as well. Tulkas cares little for either the past or future and is far more concerned about the present. While he has never been good at being a counselor, he can be a true and hardy friend to those who need one.
He is also described as being slow wrath but on the opposite side of that he is slow to forgive, but it was that quality that made him distrust Melkor when the others wanted to see the best in him.
Tulkas is known to laugh in battle and sport and due to this quality, he is the only Valar with the courage to laugh in Melkor’s face and did so once during battle.
Invocation to Tulkas Astaldo, the Valiant
O mighty Tulkas, whose laughter shatters the dread of night,
whose feet shake the foundations of the earth in joy and wrath,
hear now the breath of the world that calls to you.
You who came last and swiftest to Arda,
golden-haired, tireless, and unwearied in war,
whose arms knew no weariness and whose spirit no fear,
descend, if it pleases you, upon this place of summoning.
I speak not to command, but to remember—
to awaken the echo of your triumph in the marrow of my being,
to feel the heat of your stride,
to call upon the will that breaks shadow without cruelty.
Let the air stir with your mirth that sunders malice.
Let the ground remember your steps that once chased Melkor in terror.
Let my heart be as unyielding as your joy in strife,
and my voice resound with the silence of unwavering resolve.
By strength without vanity,
by power untainted by pride,
by the light of Laurelin that once danced in your hair,
I call to you—champion of Arda,
Tulkas, the Laughing Warrior.
