Namor: Wow, the party never stops, huh?

Weyland: Not once the cashier asked Sparkle if she was retired yet.

Namor: Ouch. How’d she take that??

Weyland: Pretty well. It only took 3 of us to get her off of him.

Light and Lighting, Part One

Sunlight is the best source of light, or is it?

A friend is terrified of the sun and its radiation,

actively hiding from it every day,

staying indoors unless it’s absolutely necessary to get out.

There’s a word for that.

Heliophobia is the fear of the sun, sunlight or any bright light.

On the other side of the spectrum (pun intended), there’s light therapy….

The Man Who Made Cartoons Swing

Although Raymond Scott (birth name Carl Stalling) was never contracted to compose for cartoons, his music was adapted for over a hundred Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes films by Warner Brothers Cartoons, among others. (The only time he did compose to accompany animation was three short commercial jingles for County Fair Bread. This was in 1962.) His tune “Powerhouse” has been used in cartoons for eighty years.

I’d say he earned his nickname.
