Cries of the Souls Oracle is a beautifull illustrated, 42 card oracle deck that allows your dark side, your shadow, to speak. The messages are blunt, but not mean. This deck came to me at a time when I really needed to let my dark side speak; he was crying out for attention, for healing, for alchemy. That dark side contains untapped abilities that will allow you to move past the obstacles you face currently. Without getting too personal about it, this deck gave me insights others were not able to for some pressing issues in my life.

The artwork is reminiscent of classic tattoo style art, as well as modern “witch aesthetic” styles of art. There are symbols within the artwork that add further meaning and depth to the cards. Each card is named, and has a subtitle that contains a short message or affirmation, and of course, the guidebook takes this a step further, and explains the meaning of each card. The guidebook’s interpretations do carry hard truths, but they are delivered with compassion, kindness and grace. For those who are grieving any kind of loss, or dealing with circumstances in their life that seem out of control, this deck lets you access your darker side that you may have suppressed. Each card has a section of interpretation, meaning, as well as advice, guidance and even ideas for moving forward.

While this deck may not be “it” for everyone, it delivers for those working on their shadows, undergoing a transformation of any kind, and those looking to heal beyond what they have already. Healing is a cyclical journey that never ends, and Cries of the Souls Oracle is here to help you on that journey. It’s not a deck you’ll need to turn to all the time; but when it’s needed, it’s a helping hand and a friendly voice offering guidance, understanding, wisdom and compassion. I will recommend this deck to others who undergoing these experiences and looking for a way to easily access the shadow, without getting too dark. I give it a 5/5 Pentagram rating!
