In the “Elemental Spells” oracle deck, planets, deities, crystals, runes, moon energy, botanicals and more come together to direct focus and attract elemental energies for desired outcomes using rituals, recipes, and spells. The forty-four cards are grouped by the four elements, indicated by the color of the banner at the top of the card that contains the theme and an intention. Additional information briefly explains why and when the spell is most effective.

Air cards are about ideas and communication, Fire cards prompt action and power, Water cards address emotions, while Earth cards relate to manifestation and managing resources. For example, Harmony is one of the Water cards; it suggests a rose petal bath to break up stuck emotional energy and wash away old sorrows. One of the Fire cards is a cauldron intended to transmute what no longer serves by burning herbs on a charcoal disk.

In the guidebook, each element is given a short description, an overview of its properties, and a concise explanation of its astrological characteristics and associations. The eleven cards of each element and their accompanying spells are also listed within each section. Author Julieta Suárez Valente explains two ways to use the oracle and gives three spreads you may choose from when drawing your cards. She also lists common ingredients that will be needed for the various spells. There are no long, detailed, inflexible instructions for carrying out the activity presented on the card; rather, users are shown where to focus and how to direct energy, allowing them to align the spell with their own magical practice.
