    Oracles and Omens

A Victorian Samhain Through the years Witchcraft has evolved as Magick and divination have become more creative. In the Victorian Age the craft was discussed openly without any consequence. Spell casting would soon become old Wives tales at least that is how it was told. How convenient for the women of that time who still wished to cast. Some spells were printed on Post Cards and sent on the proper Holiday to friends and Family. No one was any wiser to the truth. One way of divination was Apples. The spells and Fortune Telling with the Fruit were altered to the use of being a Game. Apples are a fruit…

Yellow The sun shines bright upon us as it reaches the climactic stage of its progress above us (or we around it, to be more accurate). This will happen at 11:28 GMT on the 21st of this month, and is the longest day of our year. Baby Blue As spring dawns upon us, the chill still left in the air reminds us that winter has not yet breathed its last. Yet the skies clear from time to time, letting the sun through to warm the fertile earth and bringing hope of new life from above. Eostre’s colors of pastel greens, pinks and blues begin to spring up in unexpected places. It is is blue of the sky, the water, and ice that I speak of in this issue. Burgundy: Color of the Everyday Sacred The moon turns a deep burgundy when it is near an eclipse, and is truly a sight to behold. This time is unrivaled for opening oneself to the flow of all energy, and scrying for life path decisions. The wine pours from its holder, shining in the air for a moment like a jewel and beautiful in its glorious impermanence. It is the color of red earth and drying blood, that I write of, hardening in the elements but no less true to life. On the Rainbow Path I have walked, and learned the colors and their meanings in turn. Burgundy is the color…

    Magickal Colors

White It is winter now, utterly. I gaze out the window at snow falling on the landscape, covering the Earth in a blanket of sleepy contemplation. The world seems cleaner, sharper. I find myself sleeping more, and in my sleep, more dreams. Even while awake, I sometimes catch myself drifting in a stasis of no-thought, like an unconscious meditation. Gently, gently, the whiteness covers all. The branches that seemed so verdantly green and brown in summer now appear as black twigs, reaching for the sky in stillness. “All is calm, all is bright.” Silence descends, and it seems as if there is no growth or life at all. Yet beneath…
