    Across the Great Divide

Environmental Factors of Ghost Hunting: The Sun “Morning Glory” (photo taken by R. Wolf Baldassarro) The Sun can provide several states which affect a paranormal investigation, and these must be taken into account when conducting a serious analysis of parapsychological case studies. The Earth is not the only body in our solar system to create a magnetic field; the Sun creates its own magnetic field that is dynamic, and can change location and intensity over time. The Sun also emits X-Rays, which are relatively high-energy photons. A stream of these photons has a very effective penetrating power. When looking for paranormal activity, we know that the relationship between magnetism and…

    The Tarot

So this month I wanted to share with you some important tips when reading card for a client.  Well, at least these are things that I do when I am reading for a person.  So I’m just going to go right into it. When I am reading for a person for the first time I remind myself that they might be just a tad anxious and frankly scared about the reading.  Some people show up thinking that you’re going to tell them the exact date and time of death or that you’re going to give them horrible news.  Now although it’s important not to sugar coat your reading and hide…

    Wiccan Basics

Creating an Altar Your Altar is sacred space.  It is the center of your focus. That space between the worlds that you create, and where you do magical works. It is apart from the mundane, every day life of your household. In the Ideal world we would all have our personal ritual space where your altar would be set up all the time. But the reality is that we just do not have the space in our homes and apartments to do that. So even if you have to set your altar up on the coffee table and break it back down when you are done it is Sacred to…

    Oaken Blaze

A tiny spark ignites the flame Burning bright split by pain Now two wings of fire claim Mystery dark without a name So good she thought herself Assumed sword guarding wealth Thought lay empty on a shelf Demon twin and victim melt From hazel cut wooden wand Conjure pearls from a pond Place them gentle there upon With it cast another dawn Now angels sit on brimstone hot Throne of dogwood martyr’s lot Savior found in Celtic knots Born again as pretense rots Epiphany rise up from decay Raven nighttime Phoenix day Oak it spoke and blaze did say Once we fought but now we play

    Musings of a Massachusetts Witch

My Experience With Fasting I have been incorporating fasting in my spiritual life with great success. Historically it has been utilized for thousands of years. Hippocrates, Socrates, and Plato all recommended fasting for health benefits while Moses, Jesus and Mahatma Gandhi fasted for spiritual growth, which was what I was looking to gain from my own experiences with fasting. I did not view my fast as a means of dieting nor did I view it as self-punishment for “sinful” or “bad behavior” instead I was using it as a means to heighten my own connection with deity. During this period I abstained from food but still consumed fluids to satisfy…

    Gems of the Goddess

Ran, The Oceanic Queen A force to be reckoned with, Norse Goddess Ran is the ruler of storms and the sea itself.  Living up to her name, which means “robbery”, people saw her as dangerous, due to the fact that she would lure shipmen into her fishing net, and take them down into the very depths of her hall.  Ran’s hall is known as “the hall of gold” and is also the underworld of the sea.   Her affection for gold caused sailors to carry gold out on their ventures at all times, so they would stay in her good graces. Being beautiful and also a bit destructive, Ran attracted the…
