Myths and Legends: Journeys Through Time
Mermaids “I wanna be where the people are I wanna see… Wanna see ’em dancin’ Walkin’ around on those… Whad’ya call them? Oh-Feet. Flippin’ your fins you don’t get too far Legs are required for jumpin’, dancin’ Strolling along down a.. What’s that word again? Street..” Lyrics from Part of Your World as sung by Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Ah mermaids. One of the most sought after mythological creatures ever. Also one of the oldest and most often talked about mythological creatures. Tales of mermaids have been going back for as long as humans have been exploring the sea. Some people say that mermaids are exotically beautiful creatures.…

Gypsy
Confident soul with beauty rare, Warming smile and skin so fair. Youthful stare catch ones eye, Hidden sadness, they imply. Her heart’s alone, mind can outstretch, So many lives she’s called to fetch. She acts strong, but deep inside, There’s a child that’s likes to hide. Her heart is big and full of love, She’s as gentle as a dove. Those eyes see beauty, where she looks, These feelings can’t be learned by books. She is strong, does well alone, Her true desire is never shown. She’s relaxed with what she knows, And from her all that knowledge flows. She can see within your soul, And through your life she can…

Greetings from Afar
Sverdlov’s Ghost My first paranormal experience in Russia began, literally, the first day I arrived. This story is not about a ghost that I have seen, but rather, one that I very much want to see. I shared a suite with him the first week that I was in Moscow, but he stayed to himself that week, and I never saw him. I’m still trying… When I first came to Russia, in the fall of 1987, I was with a major international company which had decided to take advantage of the newly “open” Russian Market. I was one of three foreigners to come over in the “first” wave and open…

Hally’s Hints
The Other Side of Transitions Once in a while I find myself questioning what to express in my article. This tends to represent when I am in transition between vibrational shifts and as such, not completely aligned to my authentic self. It is as though my flow is blocked. So, I thought I would use precisely this as the basis for this month’s article. I am sure there are some of you out there that know exactly what I am talking about and trust me, you are not crazy; you are increasing your vibrational level in an incredible way. The sensation of transitions during vibrational shifts and all that comes…

Prunings from the Hedge
From Silence to Will Habits run in cycles like waves, and on the level of inner talk we ride the waves and are tumbled by them. At certain points in the cycle we seem to be more in control, but when the habit builds up to the peak of its cycle we have very little control. These cycles consume a great deal of energy that the witch would like to have available for work in the quarter of Will. Long-standing habits become the hangouts of inner spirits who live off the energy they waste. These entities resist the dismantling of the habit and it becomes necessary to struggle with them. …

Interweavings
Spell bound Recently, a sweet neighbor was visiting and began talking of Paganism and Wicca. She met a fellow student who was talking to her about using spells to “get back at” other girls who were fundamentalist Christian. Both of these girls attend a rural, southern college which is overwhelmingly attended by not just Christian, but Southern Baptist. My neighbor was uncomfortable with the conversation. She is a gentle soul who has been open to Spirit showing up in her life in any form. She was unsure about using “spells and magic” in this manner. She asked my opinion. In our family, we have taught that, for us, a spell…

Paranormal Path
Ghost on Film Just typing the words “ghost on film” into any search engine will bring up thousands of photos containing “ghosts” or “spirits”. Many can prove quite disappointing when authenticity is a factor. With modern technology almost anyone who has spent time with Photoshop can create a convincing “ghost” photo. Before the digital age when film was developed, or let’s not forget the Polaroid, many believed a ghost was captured whenever a blur, streak, or double exposure appeared. So how can we tell what is real and what is fake? Research is important. Examine as many “ghost” photos as possible, the good and the bad. Some will be quite…
