Bell, Book, and Canto Music Review
Recently I had the most auspicious opportunity to experience the artistic musical workings of a new musical group Bell, Book, and Canto, a assemblage of women singing the most spiritually intoxicating acappela music I have had the pleasure of listening to in years. An all-female acappela choir, Bell, Book, and Canto’s are a spiritually diverse group covering a vast array of Earth based Religions. Invocation (Bell, Book, and Canto’s first album, released this past Beltaine) will undoubtedly be followed by many more wonderful soundings. The richness and intermingling of voices only lends to the quality of music produced by these six extremely talented ladies. If you are interested in purchasing…

Buzzard The Burying Man
In Memory of Dr. John Thomas Bailey (South Louisiana Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1866) We’ve all of us heard o’ the Queen o’ the West In the summer o’ forty-five. And how they desp’ratly clung t’ the boats When she took her final dive. We’ve all of us heard of the boilin’ sun. And the hunger And tharst bearin’ down For twenty-nine days on the rolling sea And prayin’ for to drown. Some says they ate their shipmates So as to stay alive. Ninety-eight souls in two little boats And ended with thirty-five. And we’ve all of us heard o’ Doctor Death And his pickin’ who lived and who died. And…

Temporal Travel Exercise
Properly speaking this is not a spell but it fits into the same general category. It is effective and does work. It requires practice the same as any other incantation or procedure. The procedure is not dangerous if the instructions are followed exactly. Ur does require practice and patience and will likely not produce noticeable results on the first few attempts. This is an exercise that will give you a sample of Temporal Displacement and Travel. It is fairly easy to do, but takes a lot of practice. It is perfectly safe, if you follow the directions exactly. You can use it to travel both time and in space, to other…

Witchcrafts
Whenever spell work is planned most of us try to begin with a ritual bath or shower, and in my mind the raising of energy can actually begin then. That is what lead me to the making of ritual bath soaps that are charged at the time of their making. In addition to charging these I use corresponding herbs, oils, and scents to help as many of the senses to be involved as possible. I also like to add color, body glitter, anything that helps the user truly begin the process in the bath or shower. Melt and pour soap base is carried at all most all large craft stores…

Musings of a Massachusetts Witch
Ascension and Expectations Humanity is going through a spiritual evolution. An ascension. And now is the time that we should be releasing negativity, forgiving others as well as ourselves and healing from hurts from our past. It is a time to contemplate where we are and where we are headed individually and as humankind or kind humans (as a friend of mine often says). It is a time for all of us to “walk the talk” but lately I find myself disappointed by those whom I am surrounded by. It appears that they are more hypocritical than I once believed. This disappointments me and forces me to take a closer…

Remembering to Honor the Moon As a witch I try to be faithful about honoring the wheel of the year. Every sabbat I do my best to at least have a solitary ritual if I am unable to attend a group ritual. I used to to have a full moon ritual every esbat too. My full moon rituals are my favorite. They are such a magickal and intimate time between me and my deities. Unfortunately I have gotten so busy lately that I have been forgetting to celebrate the esbats. I get bummed out every month when I realize another full moon has passed me by. Sometimes we are so…

Book Review: The Clavis or Key to the Magic of Solomon
Review: The Clavis or Key to the Magic of Solomon I guess I’m just may be too inclined to try and stuff things into categories and bins but it has always escaped me why ceremonial magic and Paganism are often tied together. I understand that modern Paganism is a broad net that sweeps up all the little fishes it can find, but I do sometimes think we have to draw the line somewhere. Given the recent debate about who is and isn’t and does and doesn’t want to be a Pagan, I think this is a valid question [1]. In my opinion, ceremonial magicians are inherently Christian, given that their…
