Speakin’ of Ghosts…
There is quite a fascination with the paranormal field lately and I think it’s safe to say there are more and more investigative teams appearing literally every day. The field is saturated with them. Television and the internet have made this field incredibly accessible, which are both a great and major pain at the same time. Television and the glamorization of ghost hunting has made it more mainstream and acceptable among the general public which is nice, but the internet has made it possible for any Tom, Chris, or Harry to start up a team whether they have any knowledge of the paranormal or not. I don’t begrudge anyone wanting…

Song to Saule
I sing deeply As the Earth And, light as the air This song to Saule In the fire And in the water My garden grows Underneath the bathing Sun Darkness teases the light As the day fades Faster than the horses She will return To the garden In the West Shimmering and shinning Silver, gold and diamonds Birds, bees and trees Across the sky She will ride To bring her love To all.

The Art of Flimflam
Jargon and specialized vocabulary are used for nearly every trade or system in the world. Sometimes this results in the general population taking on part of this way with words, such as the use of the term, ‘download.’ But more often than not, most people can listen to some conversations between two people who work or play at the same thing and not understand what the heck they’re talking about. For instance, I sat next to a table that held three accountants one time. They were not trying to keep their conversation quiet or secret in any way; I heard every sound uttered by them. But for the life of…

Shadows from the Past
Spirituality happens to be one of my most favorite subjects. The history of our Craft is an important subject to help build on the foundation of our current practices. Whether it is to remember something, so as not to repeat it, or if we need to keep it close to keep it safe, it is important to take the time to remember. I thought we would start with some popular if not controversial topics, such as when did the actual Wicca religion start? The first real question is define Wicca. Wicca is first, an earth based religion. The US Supreme Court has never actually ruled in a Wiccan case, but…

Callie’s Cavern
Amethyst The Ancient Greeks believed that Amethyst was a beautiful pure maiden who refused to get drunk. Dionysus wanted to show Amethyst the beauties of drunkenness and pursued her constantly. Diana protected Amethyst by turning her into a Quartz crystal in his despair Dionysus spilled his wine onto the crystal turning it purple. This led to the belief that Amethyst could protect you from the effects of overindulgence. The Ancient Greeks would place pieces of Amethyst in their wine glasses or better yet, drink from Amethyst goblets. Now Amethyst can be used to overcome addiction, blockages and keep thoughts in line with your goals. Ancient Egyptians ambassadors carried Amethyst scarabs…

Elemental Perspectives
Raise the Mizzenmast, Matey This is the fourth in my Elementals Perspectives series for Pagan Pages. If you have not already guessed it, this one is about the Element of Air. Popular modern Paganism declares that Air is the province of ideas, dreams, questions, and all things intellectual. It also correlates with clouds, light, vision, and stuff we associate with the sky. That is an interesting relationship. When we think an idea is not truly well thought out or complete, we label it as being airy. If we believe a person is mentally not very connected to his or her total environment, we might say they have their head in…

Interview with Giovanna Adams
Courtesy of Giovanna Adams Giovanna Adams is just one name this exceptionally talented artist goes by, others include Mother, Wife, Illustrator, Writer and Faerie aficionado. Giovanna’s Faeries of Color lend a diverse look at the world of the fey through their breath taking beauty; adding brightness to an often insipid visualization of the fairy realm. ~ Michele Burke, Pagan Pages.org 2009 Interview with Giovanna Adams Pagan Pages: Who is Giovanna Adams the woman? Giovanna Adams: I am a woman who is inspired by myth and magic and is fascinated with the belief that not all that we see in this world is all that exists. I am also a mother…

New Moon Ethics – Musings on the Morals of Paganism
Greetings The world has opened yet another door for communication amongst the pagan community. I was given the opportunity to write this column by the gracious team at paganpages.org. They have given me the freedom for my own column on the ethics of paganism, something of which i am passionate about. My name is meghan, and i am most pleased to make your aquaintance. You may also refer to me as Naiyeetu. I first began this column wondering two things. The first was how in the world I would come up with a name for this column. I chose the title New Moon Ethics – Musings on the Morals of…

The Moon (18) “Do not fear to step into the unknown for where there is risk, there is also reward.” ~Lori Hard Image Description: The Rider-Waite deck depicts a great moon, showing its three phases as one, hovering in the sky flanked by two sturdy towers.
