Instant Wall Art
Art Customized for Every Zodiac Sign
by Constance Stellas
I received a copy of the book “Instant Wall Art: Astrological Designs” with an introduction by Constance Stellas to explore. This book is produced by Adams Media. It is available for purchase now.
This book of tear- out art prints, features the works of two artists, Andrea Lauren, and Priscilla Yuen. The book contains three different art prints dedicated to each sign of the zodiac, as well as a horoscope wheel design in three variations. The art prints are 8in × 12in.
The book has a brief description of each zodiac sign in the beginning, which is helpful for those unfamiliar with the signs. It suggests which part of the home to hang the corresponding art print in, which is helpful. The book then briefly explains how to frame and hang your new art prints.
After these two short sections, we then get into the bulk of the book- the astrological art prints. They are divided into three sections. The first is a print that features each sign’s star constellation. The backgrounds of these prints are very abstract looking in my opinion. The second section of prints feature each sign’s symbol, with a black background and gold stars. The last section features a brushstroke image that portrays each signs glyph, with a neutral creamy background. There are zodiac wheel art prints in each of these styles as well. All the art prints are a great size for framing. You can put them in an 8 × 10 frame, or with a mat in an 11 × 14 frame or larger. The images are on easy to tear out perforated edged paper. The paper is nice quality and sturdy.
This book is a great idea and I think perfect for someone that wants art pieces for their home, or to include in their book of shadows. If you are interested in pictures of the zodiac signs and things related to the signs (sign constellations & symbols) then this would be an easy way to get a nice collection. The art is in three very different styles, and you would need to decide for yourself if these designs appeal to you and your decor.
For me, I liked the brushstroke glyphs best, as they are simpe yet elegant, are neutral and go well in any room, and the glyphs were a nice size. The constellation pieces were my least favorite, as I don’t personally like the abstract look to the background of these. I also would prefer the center image to be larger. The prints with the sign symbols, I really like the artwork, as well as the background. The simple black with gold really appeal to my personal aesthetic. Again in this collection, I would have preferred the center image to be larger.
As all art is a personal preference, I encourage you to check out these art prints for yourself and see if they call to you. If they do, then this is a great way to instantly grow your home’s art on a budget. Or as I mentioned earlier, you could rip these prints out and use in a book of shadows, or you could even decoupage the images onto something, like a tray or box. Whatever you chose to do with the prints is up to you and I hope you will use your imagination to come up with some fun ideas!
