Protect Your Light: A Practical Guide to Energy Protection, Cleansing and Cutting Cords by George Lizos provides the reader with the tools to navigate the energies of the modern world. The book is sectioned into four (4) main parts and further sub-divided into 40 chapters.

Part I: Energy Protection Basics addresses the needs an individual may have for establishing a protection practice, the types of negative energy attachments and their identification and when it may be necessary to move into an active state of protocols and ritual.

Part II: Clear Your Energy provides the practical application of the “how to” shield and clear negative onslaughts of energy. These techniques are diverse in their focus and are constructed in an easy to use format of meditation and action. Candles, smoke, crystals, herbs and the elements play largely into the selection using very simple structure and tools needed.

Part III: Shield Your Energy flows organically into the preventative and maintenance mode and ends with a very helpful chapter, Energy Shielding FAQ’s (Chapter 37). The eleven (11) chapters of Part III guide the reader through an assortment of practices for creating a durable and effective shield for any situation. Some are the more commonly used such as the “White Light Bubble”, “Elemental Shields”, “Shielding with Amulets and Talismans” and “Shielding with Your Spirit Guides”. Others are more creative in reach such as the “Golden Pyramid of Light”, the “Violet Flame Shield” and “Breath of Fire”.

I was intrigued by Chapter 34: Golden Pyramid of Light Shield and its application as a tool for cleansing…

…A square pyramid made up of four triangles and a square base, identical to the famous Egyptian pyramids, provides the perfect structure for transmuting energy. Its stable base is grounded firmly to the Earth while the four sides reach upwards and meet in a single point… creates an energetic flow of energy from Earth to Heaven… and… acts as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds, allowing for Source Energy to flow… from the top of the pyramid to cleanse and recalibrate your energy, and then to ground and anchor that energy into Earth…²

Part IV: Protecting Your Energy Online, the final section of Protect Your Light: A Practical Guide to Energy Protection, Cleansing and Cutting Cords is by and far the most interesting. I wish that it had been more robust in its content, but nonetheless, it offered a valuable perspective of energy protection and shielding within the digital space. One of the resources used for this writing is noted as a 2019 article written by META CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. Chapter 38: Living in a Digital Landscape provides the reader with some tech and social media jargon as well as the logistics of a social media/online presence. The final two chapters 39: Taking Control of Your Online Presence and 40: Digital Clearing and Shielding Process follow up with practical application of ways to mitigate negative energy and how to refresh and renew with digital breaks and regular assessment of privacy settings, friends, follows and more.

Would I Recommend:

Protect Your Light: A Practical Guide to Energy Protection, Cleansing and Cutting Cords by George Lizos is a good primer for learning how to effectively protect, ward and shield yourself and environment. There is a very practical and “no frills” approach in his style of writing and reads as relatable and accessible on multiple levels of engagement and understanding. The practices and protocols are sourced from Kundalini Yoga protocols, energetic medicine, Craft ways and safety/privacy directives from social media platforms.

I appreciate the addition of taking these practices and focusing on the particulars of online/social media. There is definitely a lot of toxic energy perpetrating via the digital doorway and many are completely unaware of the negative pull that is exerted in the digital space. Protect Your Light: A Practical Guide to Energy Protection, Cleansing and Cutting Cords by George Lizos would be a lovely gift to anyone who spends a great deal of time with others, virtually and in-person. You are essentially giving them the awareness and tools to remain healthy and whole energetically (and by proxy-physically/mentally/emotionally) in an often less than supportive world.

Robin Fennelly

Robin Fennelly is an Elder within The Assembly of the Sacred Wheel Tradition and serves as High Priestess of Coven of the Mystic Path, the 12th Coven within the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel Tradition. She teaches and facilitates classes for the Pagan Experience Study Group that serves as foundation for membership within Coven of the Mystic Path.
