Gerridwen Greenleaf loves that the simple wisdom she brought from her family farm is helping people in high-tech centers create sanctuaries both within themselves and their homes.
In “Wiccan Self-care Spells” are chapters addressing such topics as reducing stress, creating a harmonious home, and rituals for relaxing and letting go. Pages are filled with spells, practices, and recipes for healing teas, potions, and cures that have been handed down by foremothers who turned to what was in their kitchen cabinets when times were tough.
Helpful hints, inspired ideas, natural remedies, astrological associations, and witch crafts will help readers restore serenity with sacred self-care. Chakras, sigils, essential oils, healing herbs, meditation and crystals are among the wide variety of knowledge introduced that can be integrated into daily life, thus offering magic for mental health and physical wellbeing. Nothing is complicated or intimidating. A mix of fonts, graphics, background colors, and framing break the content into inviting vignettes.
Having dealt with anxiety and grief, Greenleaf offers her own testimonials to their supportive effects. All of this, she writes, is to foster “inner strength as well as buttressing your defenses with protective magic, so you can create a comfortable home base along with mastering the art of using energetic shields to protect against events and people who are psychic drains.” She added that doing so offers “simple cozy joy and homey happiness every single day.”
The plethora of subjects within this book will provide a solid base for beginners and should offer experienced witches some fresh ideas.
In the back it has a glossary of terms, ritual resources, and an index.
