Tarot Deck & Guide Book Review The Dreams of Gaia Tarot & Guide Book Created by Ravynne Phelan The Dreams of Gaia Tarot, published by Blue Angel Publishing, 80 Glen Tower Drive, Glen Waverly, Victoria, Australia 3150, is created entirely by Ravynne Phelan, a talented and prolific fantasy artist. This is Phelan’s first Tarot deck (although not her first divination deck); she created all the artwork and wrote the guidebook (which was edited by Jamie Morris). I am thrilled to be reviewing this beautiful and powerful deck. Full disclosure: I purchased my deck directly from its creator back in late 2016, when the deck was first released. I…

Book Review – Divination Conjure Style: Reading Cards, Throwing Bones and Other Forms of Household Fortune-Telling by Starr Casas
Book Review Divination Conjure Style Reading Cards, Throwing Bones and Other Forms of Household Fortune-Telling by Starr Casas 256 Pages Conjure magic is not my thing. Nor is Hoodoo or Voodoo or Santeria – I don’t come from these cultures – so I don’t practice these religions anymore than I practice Islam or Hinduism or Evangelical Christianity. However, I love reading about any religion and their practices and finding the commonalities that many religions – and cultures – possess. Because as different as all religions are, they are all very much alike in many basic ways. And – as a person who will try any kind of divinatory…

Hello, Brightest Blessings I wanted to share a January Full, Frost Moon tarot spread this month. January Full moon Has several Names: old moon, chaste moon, cold moon, quiet moon, snowmoon. It’s that time of year when the temperature drops & the mornings are frosty. All sounds are hushed by the falling snow. It’s a calm and quiet time. As the Temps drop a beautiful white ice ring appears around the moon as she grows to full. We’re Far away from big City lights in rural Paris,…

Pixie Witch Kitchen
Everything Under the Moon Soup This is a great recipe I came up with a few years ago playing around in the kitchen. Isn’t that how all great recipes are made? It’s a very tasty, healthy, thick soup that you can eat by itself or with any meal. I like to serve it with baked chicken or pork chops. I named it everything under the Moon for a reason, as you can add anything to it. Ingredients 7 carrots 5 potatoes 1 white onion 4 celery stalks 2 zucchinis 1 tsp. minced garlic 1/2 cup red lentils 1 can (10oz) diced tomatoes with chilies 1/2 green cabbage (optional) 2…

Book Review – The Hidden Meaning of Birds: A Spiritual Field Guide Explore the Symbology and Significance of These Divine Winged Messengers by Arin Murphy-Hiscock
Book Review The Hidden Meaning of Birds A Spiritual Field Guide Explore the Symbology and Significance of These Divine Winged Messengers by Arin Murphy-Hiscock 240 Pages When first seeing this book, I was instantly reminded of my many Peterson’s Field Guide books to birds of various locations. Like the reliable Peterson’s series, The Hidden Meaning of Birds provides illustrations, physical descriptions, preferred environments and habitat ranges for over 50 birds from around the world. It also invites us to connect with birds as divinatory messengers, opening us up to another layer of relationship with them. I have watched birds as message bringers for a long time. I’ve gone on omen…

Peeking in the Shadows: Crafting a Book of Shadows and Light
Top Picks and Ideas for Starting Your BOS: Part One Last month we began the exploration of what should be considered in selecting the perfect book. This month I’d like to share some of my top picks for journals and some ideas to get started…. Just to reiterate…. I have MANY journals that have at one time or another served as my BOS. I went through the phases of using a very traditional looking BOS. This was the look of “witchiness” a la movies and imagination; this was my novice witch look. The next phase was using whatever was handy and could be sourced readily as inspiration flowed. These were…

January Joy: New Year; New You?
I want to lend some spiritual advice to all those bombarded with the inevitable January blast of “New Year, New You” thinking. There’s a lot of advertising out there telling you that you need to change. Here’s what I think. You don’t need to go on a diet. Unless a medical professional tells you different, or you genuinely want to for your own reasons, you are fine as you are. You don’t need to buy new sports gear. If you want to, great! But don’t be pressured or guilt tripped into it. You don’t need a crazy new exercise routine. Exercise is amazing. It boosts endorphins, it makes you…
