    Hally’s Hints

What is Your Gift? The phone rings and you guess who it is. You look outside and it looks as though it is about to rain. You wish silently to yourself that it would be great if it were sunny. Half an hour later the sun comes out, even though it hadn’t been forecast. There are so many things that happen every day and yet we dismiss it as being co-incidental. We do not stop to consider that perhaps there is something deeper and more intense happening. Perhaps these things only happen to others… As children we take things at face value. Most of us can recall times where we…

    Wise Woman Traditions

Hot Colds and Cold Colds – Winter Health Winter is coming. So are colds and the flu. Here are some tips for preventing these viral illnesses. And for getting well fast if you do get sick. Preventing colds and the flu can be summed up in three words: Wash your hands. The viruses that cause colds and the flu most readily enter our bodies by means of our hands. Wash your hands after shopping. Remind your children to wash their hands as soon as they come home from school. A little “hysterical hygiene” goes a long way to keeping colds at bay. Of course, there are herbs that can be…

    Why the Full Moon?

There is a common misconception that Wiccans worship the full moon.  Simply put, that’s pony poop.  We worship at the time of the full moon and we use the moon and its phases as a religious symbol, a spiritual metaphor.  Let me explain: For Wiccans, there are two sort of ‘generic’ deities, the god and the goddess.  Another way of stating it is that there are projective (sometimes called ‘positive’) and receptive (sometimes called ‘negative’) forces from which the universe is derived.  The god (projective, positive, etc.) is said to be the one that produces the energy, while the goddess (receptive, negative, etc.) takes it and shapes it into everything…

    WEDDING BELLS

The time eventually came that just as Papa had promised all those years before Sherry and I got that “pretty piece of paper” that legally made us “man and wife”. It was hot that year, even for May in East Texas . Most people who were old enough said that it had already been the hottest spring since the end of “the war”. Of course even with Vietnam still raging, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind which war they were referring to. It promised to be a real scorcher of a summer. Not a sign of a breeze was stirring. The twenty-year-old air conditioner in our church struggled mightily…

    Crystal Song, Chapter 6

Randmier watched the green singer fall back into the connection of the matrix as he held the little star beast. Its humming had not stopped and the crystal within its forhead shown brightly. It trilled happily as its coat glistened with starlight. He turned away to carry the lil beast back to its mistress and made the long trek back to the council room. When he arrived raised voices carried outside the doors and the guards snapped to attention on his arrival. Randmier raised his hand to open the door and a guard slowly shook his head. Randmier paused to listen to them before he went in. Obviously it was…

    ChaosSun’s Crafts

Recycle Yule Poppet! GO GREEN!  That seems to be the no way to go, Recycle, reuse, reduce.  Well heck!  The holidays are no exception. I’m the notorious one to Recycle unwanted presents among my friends, but rarely do I ever get a gift I don’t keep.  I suppose it’s that dragon side of me that keeps things.   However..the one thing that seems to stock pile, year after year!  No matter how much of it I try and use is Tissue paper, Wrapping Ribbon, and wrapping paper.  And Tape, but lets face it, we can alluse a bit of tape year round. So…Lately I’ve liked the idea of Poppet Dolls. Some…
