    Goddess Cards

Mothers A famous Jewish proverb says, “God could not be everywhere, so he created mothers. Six thousand years ago, people believed it was the Goddess who created everything!  The goddess, known as the Great Mother, was thought to have given birth to the whole universe. She did so, not from a position of remote, male authority, but from the very blood and substance of her body, right here on Earth. In her limitless fertility and abundance, she birthed, not just a host of children of every kind, but the Heavens themselves. She created everything that walked or crawled upon the Earth, flew across the skies, swam in the oceans, lakes…

Finding Your Ethereal (Spiritual) Balance There is no doubt that with every gift there comes a responsibility that is not glamorous and holds a weight many without cannot begin to fathom. The Grove

Athena The scent of lemon lingers in the air. I can hear birds chirping outside in the garden as I crack open a window. My muscles feel a bit stiff, but I take pride in their ache. It’s taken me most of the morning, but I’ve finally managed to tidy up most of the house. There’s just one more chore left to do: polish the replica Athenian general’s helm on my desk & the bronze statue of Athena on my altar. It makes sense for me to dedicate this day to chores. At what roughly corresponds to May in the modern calendar, the ancient Greeks celebrated the Kallynteria in honour…

Myths and Legends: Journeys Through Time

Dragons “She stops at the edge of the forest, standing as deep within the cover provided by the foliage as she dares to. Squinting slightly against the bright midday sun, she slowly scans the sky, starting at the horizon and sweeping her eyes back and forth until she sees the green leaves. Satisfied for a moment that it’s safe to step out in the open, the young maiden pulls her cloak more tightly around her shoulders and steps beyond the tree line. Suddenly as if waiting for her to appear in view, a huge winged shadow passes over her. The maiden stops in her steps, eying the tree line but…

    Rites and Rituals

Beltaine and the Flower Moon I step into the forest. I slowly and deeply breathe. Standing still beneath the ancient trees, my senses fill with the magick of Beltaine. In every space, in every moment, new life unfolds before my eyes. The soft breeze grows ever more enchanted as the flora whispers sweet seduction to the birds and the bees. Shafts of Sunshine pierce through the great conifers’ boughs glinting off a myriad of insect wings and delivering fuel to the forest floor. I remain quiet, drifting deeper into Nature, and I begin to see and feel how the energies have changed from Ostara. It seems only a few days…

    The Crafty Writer

Painting Stained Glass As the sun rises over the horizon the marvel of the mornings glory rises with it. The light radiates in a multitude of colors from the predawn grays to the blazing yellows as the sun pulls itself away from Mother Earth’s horizon. The molten mass of the sun climbs higher and higher. The morning light reaches out and strikes the sun catcher in your window throwing its colors into the kitchen. That radiating piece of glass can be bought in many shapes and sizes, from the beautiful to the inexpensive looks nice. The only problem is that the design you want is never on the shelf, and…
