10-Minute Crystal Healing” introduces readers to these natural wonders and their energies. In the first part of the book, Ann Crane explains how crystals work, the significance of various shapes, the attributes of each color, how to choose and care for stones, some of their most common uses, and how to program them. There are tips, rituals, exercises and meditations to inform, guide, heal, protect and empower users. Basic correspondences for zodiac signs and chakras, and using crystal grids are also presented.

I was impressed with the wisdom shared when addressing wants, needs and the principles of manifestation, such as, “the universe lies within us, just as it appears to lie without us. It is only once we start to really believe this, and by ‘believe,’ I mean ‘know and experience’ this, that can we actually manifest that which we desire.”

The second part of the book offers simple ways to use individual crystals grouped into four chapters: chakra healing, emotional healing, spiritual healing and development, and shielding and protection. Each presents crystal solutions to situations.

Crystal healing is holistic and can be used to realign our energy so that we are healed emotionally, spiritually, and physically,” Ann wrote in the introduction. “For spiritual healing, where we need to reconnect to our soul or the universe, or simply gain a renewed sense of our spiritual self, we can meditate with certain crystals, such as amethyst, celestite, or moonstone. But for emotional healing, you can use a range of crystals to boost your well-being, balance your chakra energies, and enhance your emotions and general psychological state. For instance, red garnet balances sexual energy levels and alleviates emotional disharmony, while brown jasper stimulates the immune system.”

Along with which crystal to use for which purpose are crystal grids and layouts, tips, visualizations, practices, meditations, and suggestions for easily incorporating crystals into daily life. Each topic is broken into multiple sub-topics.

I am more accustomed to handbooks listing crystals alphabetically with all its information presented together, paired with a cross-reference by intention. This book is organized by intention, with the index providing help finding multiple mentions. It’s logical because of all the crystals and all their uses, this guide focuses on only healing, shielding, and protection. Many of them – such as shattuckite and dioptase – were unfamiliar to me.

The book is one of seven comprising the 10 Minute series. While it will not be published until September 8, the hardcover can be preordered on Amazon.

Author Ann Crane grew up in the Midwest and the UK and now lives north of Boston, MA. She is a long-time practitioner of using healing crystals on herself and clients. This is her first book.

All my life I have known magic was real. As a child, I played with the fae, established relationships with trees and “just knew things.” In my maiden years I discovered witchcraft and dabbled in the black-candles-and-cemeteries-at-midnight-on-a-fullmoon magick just enough to realize I did not understand its power. I went on to explore many practices including Zen, astrology, color therapy, native traditions, tarot, herbs, candle magic, gems, and, as I moved into my mother years, Buddhism, the Kabbalah and Reiki. The first man I dated after my divorce was a witch who reintroduced me to the Craft, this time by way of the Goddess. For 11 years I was in a coven, but with retirement, I have returned to an eclectic solitary practice. When accepting the mantle of crone, I pledged to serve and teach. This is what I do from my skoolie – a 30-year-old school bus converted into a tiny house on wheels that I am driving around the country, following 72-degree weather, emerging myself into nature, and sharing magic with those I meet.
