Citrine

Citrine is a very useful crystal with a multitude of properties. It is a yellow variety of quartz and can be orange, brown or yellow. It is a birthstone for November, and also is connected to Aries, Gemini, Leo and Libra. Its element is Air and its planet is Jupiter. Citrine is also known as the Merchant’s Stone and is also sensitive to heat so it is best not to put it where there is too much light or heat. One tip to know if your Citrine is real vs something like heat treated Amethyst is looking at it in the light and looking for small air bubbles. If you see the bubbles, it is not real, but heat-treated amethyst still has healing properties.

What is Citrine helpful with? Lots! As most crystals are, it has a lot of really positive properties. It helps with manifestation, imagination, personal will and self-confidence. It energizes and is life giving while it also clears the mind and brings fullness to life. It can help you work out problems, gives you motivation and emotional balance. The yellow and orange hues symbolize sunshine, spiritual joy, abundance and transmutation.

Citrine is one of the rare crystals that does need to be recharged or purified and has the power to turn negative thoughts and energies into positive, so it is nice to have on your person as something like a necklace to provide self-esteem, protection and keep you calm. This crystal is very good to help with phobias, depression and anxiety. So, if you struggle with some of those mental health issues- get yourself some Citrine!

If you are wondering what works well with Citrine, you should combine it with Agate, Rose Quartz, Amethyst and Hematite. Some similar stones are Calcite and Amber. It also anchors and activates the lower chakras. The best specimens come from Spain, Brazil, Russia and France.

It really is a positive crystal to have in your collection as it obviously has a lot of really good qualities. If you use a Septegram grid you can use Citrine in addition to your favourite stones to help amplify the effects. It’s a beautiful crystal with brilliant colours

A really nice exercise to use with Citrine would be to lay on the ground and put the crystal on your solar plexus. If it is pointed, have the point facing your feet. If you have it, put some clear quartz on the arch of each foot and another above the crown. If these are pointed, have them point upwards. Then hold Citrine in each hand. Relax for around 15 minutes or until you feel like you have enough energy and you are ready to move the stones.
