    Meditation Moment

Letting Go   Lammas, also called Lughnassa, is the celebration of our first harvest and of the slowly lengthening nights.  Grain and Corn Gods die in order to feed Their people.  Some tarot decks assign Lammas to The Hanged Man, the card of sacrifice and gain.  One of my favorite decks shows the Hanged Man as an infant in the womb, ready for birth, and that card is the inspiration for this month’s meditation. This is a more advanced guided meditation, requiring an ability to let go of the limitations of time and space so that you can exist in two or more times/places at once.  You are going to…

    The Otherworld

The Otherworld is where I go, it’s where I get what I need to know. It lies behind an invisible screen, sometimes you may see it in a dream, but usually that time just in-between, when nothing is quite the way it seems. I guess I’ve been going there all my life, you could say it’s the place from where I came, where I was before my name called me here. Never one for letting go. I brought with me the need to know, which I now must feed.

    Musings from the Mossy Trail

Dryads: Wood Nymphs of the Forest “The Dryad rejoiced in her life, and rejoiced in the sunshine, and the singing of the birds; but she was most rejoiced at human voices; she understood the language of men as well as she understood that of animals. ” —Hans Christian Anderson     Purely a gift to humanity and the earth alike, trees fill our lives with beauty, can be seen as a symbol of our own spirituality with deep roots and fortitude, and greatly aid in our health. One mature leaf provides as much oxygen as ten people inhale in a year. They also have the ability to filter chemicals…

Plastic Paths: The Astral Travel Chronicles

Sleep Paralysis   “The only way out is to go back in.”                 Most travelers will agree that the most disconcerting part of astral traveling is sleep paralysis. More than disconcerting really, it can be down right torture, or at least that’s how it feels when one is wide awake  inside of a body that refuses every command: eyes won’t open, arms and legs won’t move, and a voice that won’t scream. Sleep paralysis is often more than just waking up to discover you can’t move. Many people have reported feeling sensations and hearing voices, and feeling someone else in the room when they should be alone. My first experience…

    Spiritual Restrictions

The idea of paying for your actions in reward or punishment are conveyed in concepts of all systems, whether barbaric or civilized; there has to be a sense of a moral system involved for some mental discipline of consequences. The ideas of consequences spiritually are viewed in the Buddhist version of Karma, Egyptian Alchemy with the Emerald tablets “As above, so below”, Kabbalistic concepts of “Kether in in the Malkuth”, the Wiccan threefold, Christianity version of this is in the concept of judgment after death, and the old term “you reap what you so”. So the idea of accepting responsibility is in all religions and cultures, not only found in…
