Witches’ Paradigms, Part Three, Section One
The Ogham Tree Calendar and the Rune of Amergin: Introduction through Fearn The Ogham Tree Alphabet: In the old time, when the children of Danu still lived in the East in their cities of Falias, Gorias, Finias and Murias, the Ever- living Ones guarded their four treasures and grew and prospered. “Ogma was the most handsome of the Children of Danu…To him fell the gift of honeyed words, of poetry and of languages, and he it was who devised how man could write in a form of calligraphy, which was named after him as Ogham” (Ellis, p. 27). The following illustrates the Ogham script, which is thought by most scholars…

Hally’s Hints
All is Quiet in the Spiritual World… or is it? It has been a quiet time in the spiritual world. This does not mean that nothing has taken place, rather that the shifts are not affecting the conscous directly and are aligning themselves with the planets, animals and with the unconscious. An indication of this is having over sensitivity, more people flying off the handle with certain comments or feeling an increase of negativity. I have been advising for the past six months, if not longer, that these shifts are not going to stop anytime soon. They will intensify however, in the world of energy this intensity is…

June Correspondences
The sixth month of the Gregorian Calender, June is the first month of summer. June derives it’s name from the Roman Goddess Juno. Her Greek counterpart is Hera. The traditional birthstone amulets of June are alexandrite, moonstone, and pearl; and the rose is the month’s traditional flower. June is shared by the astrological signs of Gemini the Twins and Cancer the Crab, and is sacred to the following Pagan deities: Juno, and all gods and goddesses who preside over love, passion, and beauty. During the month of June, the Great Solar Wheel of the Year is turned to the Summer Solstice, one of the four Lesser Sabbats celebrated each year…

Little Heathen Girl on the Hill
for Dawn The following verse developed from a daydream. I imagined that just for a few minutes I was allowed to go back in time to pre-Christian Europe. I found myself on a hill on a lovely blue afternoon. There was an elm tree on the hill, and under it a little girl with two thick blonde pigtails was threading flower-bracelets. I asked her what she knew about the world, about life and death and the Gods. She answered me in a sort of sing-song, as if reciting a lesson learned (no doubt) from the local priest, and this is something like what she told me: A Pagan Credo: 1…

Book Review: Spells for Self-improvement
Spells for Self-improvement Using Magic for Personal Success by Lauren White © 2000 Andrews McMeel Publishing ISBN: 0-7407-0552-0 102 pages Hardcover $9.95 (U.S.) As you would rightly expect upon seeing this book for the first time (it is about 5 inches square), it is extremely basic and written with tongue firmly planted in cheek. For all of that, there is still a certain amount of wisdom contained within the amusing writing. Basics are provided in terms of color uses and some flowers and herbs, and the reader is reminded that witchCRAFT is just that – a craft – and takes patience and practice to perfect. Regular readers of my reviews…
