In this beautiful Oracle Deck and Guidebook, Nadine Gordon-Taylor invites you into the visionary world of mystical archetypes. With riveting art that not only speaks to the mind, but the heart and the soul as one. The use of the word miraculous isn’t in anyway an overstatement with this deck. Many of the cards feature animals and other deep symbols and archetypes in impossible juxtapositions. Many of the images are difficult for the mind to accept when you look closely. It it clearly written in the language of the soul.

Each card features a brilliant visionary image rendered on a large card-stock, on a colored background. The back of the card is a dove flying on a starry night background. No piece of any card was drawn without the deepest thought. In the guidebook, the guidance is split into 2 distinct pieces, along with an affirmation at the end. In the first portion of guidance, she describes each element of the card in pristine detail. In the second portion, she breaks down the message. Then the most astoundingly outrageous juxtapositions found in the deck seem to make sense. As in the dream world, all juxtapositions are meaningful.

Seemingly conceived from the spirit realms themselves, the color and conceptualizing of these strange dreamscapes somehow makes sense still. The soul has been to these places, seen these beings, as none of it seems foreign. The dimensions and contrast of the colors of the images spring off the card. They’re rendered in a non gloss card-stock, which gives an earthen vibe to each image.

The cards themselves are rather large, and are difficult to bridge if you have small hands. And due to the large dimensions, it tends to hold a bend, so perhaps bridging wouldn’t be recommended at all with this deck. These cards tend to like being lightly shuffled and spread out, or mixed like tiles, and picked from blindly. Each card holds a wealth of information, so unless you’re doing really intense work, a full spread with these cards is hardly necessary. Works amazingly as an addition, or foundation card to a tarot spread.

Many of the cards escape worded descriptions. Psychedelic and trippy are the only adjectives the mind would understand. Someplace within, you’ve been everyone, everywhere, everywhen. That’s who this deck speaks to. Perfect for the Shamanic practitioner, lucid dreamer, those who use visionary substances and the hedgewitch. It crosses time and cultural boundaries on the mythos drawn from, not one obvious culture. It seems these images were stolen from the gods themselves.

Overall, I’d prefer this deck to be a bit smaller. Perhaps leave out the colored background to make the card smaller, as it is very difficult to shuffle. However that is still just a matter of opinion, as it is an Oracle Deck. So conventional rules need not apply. Also the lack of a gloss finish leaves you longing for that saturated wet look on the those colors. Overall, the deck is amazing for its purpose.
