SAMHAIN, PLEASE RSVP! Hi my lovelies….well it’s finally here! The time between times, the entry to the darkest part of the year lays before us at the end of this calendar month. The shops are awash with all things Halloween, Ghosts and Ghoulies adorning every aisle of every supermarket and every shop window in the high street, happy sigh!!! This is the time of the year where at last we can go a little bit crazy and shop till we drop, as for us it’s time to stock up on our everyday essentials lol! Not only are the shops full of Halloween goodies, the food aisles come alive with the…

THE MAGIC OF A SONG AND A BISCUIT! Hi my lovelies! September, ahhh, I love it! Crisp autumnal walks in the fading sunshine, crunching of leaves and nut husks underfoot and the hedgerows bedecked with scarlet berries. This is my all-time favourite time of the year. Of course this has absolutely nothing to do with the peace that descends over the land as the children are once again contained by the walls of the school, yay! The colours of autumn can quite take your breath away, here in magical Wiltshire it is glorious as the fields are stripped bare and the chaff is singed down, the trees explode into a…

Wiltshire Witchy Walk Bedecked with basket swinging my arm I wander out into the place from of my spiritual home, the hedgerow. The sound of my feet crunching on the gravel of the lane beat a harmonious tune in time with the grumble of the combine harvester, and I marvel at this technology, bringing in the crop cleanly and quickly, saving the vital life giving grains from the water element that threatens a sharp shower later. I bow my head in a gesture of respect to this modern monster, and the help it gives our hardworking farmers all over this glorious British isle. I give thanks to the Goddess for the…

That Tiny Patch of Lawn Hi my lovelies! July has a different meaning depending on whether you are still at school or not, don’t you think? For all children everywhere it signals the end of the school year, the square on the monopoly board that heralds the get out of jail free card, the endless sunny days of hope and wild abandonment, climbing trees (or playing computer games, whatever the modern equivalent is)and sleeping in, ahhhh what bliss!!! For parents and all child looking afterers July has a certain chill to the air…ahead stretch endless days to be filled, manic conversations and arguments to be had and the go directly…

Chat with the Fairies Hi my lovelies! Magical June is here, and for all of us Hedgewitches that can only mean one thing…time for a chat with the fairy folk, and you all know how much I love to talk!!! Litha (Midsummer or the Summer Solstice) is one of the most magical times for us on our paths to cross the veil between worlds and have a bit of a natter with the Fae. At this time of balance the veil between our worlds is at its thinnest, enabling us to journey over to celebrate the solstice with the fairies in their realm, it’s so exciting!!! Of course, I do…

Sneaky Parenting and a Wedding Day! Hi my lovelies….and Beltane blessings to all of you guys out there! Now, as you can imagine, the process of me writing this column doesn’t happen on the 1st of each month, the day of Pagan Pages publication. It’s just as well too as I am, especially the moment, swamped with 100 things on my list to do and very few crossed off. So it is lovely this month to be able to take a few moments out to have a natter with you amidst the chaos that is permeating every corner of my home and life. Today’s date is the 17th April as…

Breaking Magical Ground Hi my lovelies, wow who ordered April? I am shocked at its arrival, not only by how fast time is flying by but by the fact that it is my birthday this month, heralding me into a new number, 45…wow, now I definitely did not order that! I hope I am doing all us mad ones proud though as I defiantly poke my tongue out at another year older. My hair has been bathed in bleach and pink dye, I am still rocking out to all my favourite Metallica tunes and this Grandma is still in her uniform of jeans, trainers and a tee shirt, no slip…

Celebrating the Forgotten Goddess Within! Hi my lovelies! March is here, yay…bring on that BST and the extra hour of daylight!!! Spring is springing and nature is in full on fertility mode, 50 shades of Grey has nothing on our natural world. The cycle of the Goddess is well and truly underway for the year, the maiden rules once again, all young, beautiful and full of promise. But with everything screaming newness and freshness I can’t help thinking it is all a little past me. Ok, I can feel the vibrancy of the Maiden in nature, but in my inner world that phase is over. At 44 I can’t really…

AS ABOVE, DEFINITELY MORE BELOW!!!   Pull up a chair and grab a cuppa and a blanket my lovelies, let’s have a natter about Imbolc…I know, the tree has barely gone back into the loft and the weather is anything but spring like and enchanting, just walking out into the garden brings on hyperthermia and chattering teeth. Surely it’s not time for another festival? Now, I don’t know about you guys, but I have a secret to share with you all, shhh, don’t tell everyone! I’m not all that keen on Imbolc, there I said it, and it’s out there now, never to be taken back. It’s not that I…

Picture perfect 2015! Hi my lovelies, 2015 has come screaming in way too fast…time is certainly playing its tricks on this old Hedgewitch, who gave permission for time to speed up? 2014 was a year of excitement as my first book was published and everyone seemed to be moving! I moved house, as did both of my daughters, one at University and one with the 3 grandbabies to a bigger home, packing boxes were flying around the family like a bag of sweets! There is something wonderful about moving house. I know it is supposed to be one of the most stressful things you can do, however, I am a…
