    WEDDING BELLS

The time eventually came that just as Papa had promised all those years before Sherry and I got that “pretty piece of paper” that legally made us “man and wife”. It was hot that year, even for May in East Texas . Most people who were old enough said that it had already been the hottest spring since the end of “the war”. Of course even with Vietnam still raging, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind which war they were referring to. It promised to be a real scorcher of a summer. Not a sign of a breeze was stirring. The twenty-year-old air conditioner in our church struggled mightily…

    ChaosSun’s Crafts

Recycle Yule Poppet! GO GREEN!  That seems to be the no way to go, Recycle, reuse, reduce.  Well heck!  The holidays are no exception. I’m the notorious one to Recycle unwanted presents among my friends, but rarely do I ever get a gift I don’t keep.  I suppose it’s that dragon side of me that keeps things.   However..the one thing that seems to stock pile, year after year!  No matter how much of it I try and use is Tissue paper, Wrapping Ribbon, and wrapping paper.  And Tape, but lets face it, we can alluse a bit of tape year round. So…Lately I’ve liked the idea of Poppet Dolls. Some…

    Crystal Song, Chapter 6

Randmier watched the green singer fall back into the connection of the matrix as he held the little star beast. Its humming had not stopped and the crystal within its forhead shown brightly. It trilled happily as its coat glistened with starlight. He turned away to carry the lil beast back to its mistress and made the long trek back to the council room. When he arrived raised voices carried outside the doors and the guards snapped to attention on his arrival. Randmier raised his hand to open the door and a guard slowly shook his head. Randmier paused to listen to them before he went in. Obviously it was…

Light Inside the Darkness: Musings on Meditation and Energy Work

Using Earth Meditations to Stay Calm during Troubled Times These days it seems anyone whose last name isn’t Hilton is having difficulty staying afloat. Now, most us are so busy trying to survive that we don’t have time to devote a few hours, heck, even half an hour to meditate; so let’s look at a method for quickly changing our mental state from one of fear and anxiety, to one that promotes a strong, peaceful approach to dealing with a world that has gone slightly mad. I won’t be requiring you to chant out loud, bend yourself in pretzel, or wear an orange robe for this, so it can be…

    Faeries, Elves and Other kin

Normally I would have written something about the Fae and had fully intended on writing an article based on the Water faeries but when I got up this morning and turned on my computer I received a bit of extremely sad news; a very good friend of mine’s mother had just passed away. As I tried to get my mind on the work at hand I just could not get my friend off my mind. What do you say when someone has lost a loved one, let alone their mother? Do I call or perhaps send some flowers? These things all fade away. So in dedication of a life taken…

    PaganDad

The Lessons of Winter Winter is really here. In most parts of the United States the cold weather and snow has set in. But what does this season mean to us Pagans? We know about Yule and the rebirth of the Sun, but what about that period between Yule and Imbolc? I believe that every season and every Sabbat can teach us lessons if we only have the ears to hear and the eyes to see. This season is traditionally a time of rest and recovery for the world. A time, when in the natural world, most trees shed their leaves and many animals turn in to hibernate for the…

    Sacred Sites

Sacred Sites – Brigid’s Well – Liscannor, Ireland Symbolically, water is seen as a portal to the Otherworld and as a source of wisdom and healing. So, it’s not surprising that Ireland is home to nearly three thousand holy wells. Of these, at least fifteen (many undocumented) are dedicated to the Goddess Brigid. Known by many names of various spellings, she is the daughter of Dagda the great ‘father-god’ of Ireland and many believe she is one and the same with Danu, the first great mother of Ireland. Located in Liscannor on the western coast of County Clare, Brigid’s Well is one of the many stops on a pilgrimage path…
