Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a non-patriarchal world, a world without violence, rape, misogyny and bigotry in all its’ forms?
Have you ever imagined what it would be like to live in a world filled with Goddess Mystery Schools, Goddess Temples, Priestesses serving the Goddess in peace and harmony?
This book is filled with the joy that is inherent in Goddess worship. The rituals are beautifully written; the power can be felt in the author’s words. I found myself breathless at times.
High Priestesses embodying different Goddesses from diverse corners of the world share a vision of the destruction of the world as they know it- visions of fire, and murder and rape; the destruction of their Temples. This is the story of them coming together, sharing their sacred knowledge, which has always been kept secret, and their magics to do what they can to save the wisdom and the ways of the Goddess.
We meet each Priestess in her own sacred part of the world, performing ritual, leading her people. We are with her when she is faced with this overwhelmingly destructive vision that fills her with fear and anger. We stand with her as she tells her people of that vision and that she must leave and go far away.
We travel with these women as they journey toward each other, find each other and discover an unbreakable bond between them that culminates in their final decision of how to save the world and the wisdom of the Goddess.
Ms. Martin has filled this book with magic, with ritual, with power, with the love of the Goddess and the women who follow her. It is full of feelings and I felt them all. When I read the last page, tears were streaming down my face, I was so moved.
I highly recommend this book to everyone, but especially women, women who follow the Goddess and those who have not as yet discovered Her. She is present in each page of this book.

Upon finishing Sisters of the Solstice Moon, I immediately began reading the second book in the series. It is a worthy successor. It follows the Priestesses from life to reincarnated life through the years and ages. It brings them together time and time again, finding each other, loving each other, leaving each other whether by circumstance or death.
At times, this second book is somewhat confusing, jumping as it does from time to time, place to place, but it brings you into each new life and their stories. Some are reincarnated as people whose names you would recognize; others not so much, but in each life, known and unknown, the goal is the same — to find each other and to find the Goddess, to keep her alive in the now.
While I enjoyed this book very much, I did not feel that it had the power and Impact of the first. There is a third book forthcoming.
