    Tarot Talk

Comparing the Four of Swords & the Four of Cups     This month we will talk about two Tarot cards that approach the same concept, withdrawal, from two different vantage points. Let’s investigate the Four of Cups and the Four of Swords. The Four of Cups and the Four of Swords are Minor Arcana cards, so we know the message offered by these cards will most likely be more immediate in nature, or will most likely be connected to more day-to-day issues. The easiest way to get a decent understanding of a Minor Arcana card is to examine its number, or in the case of Court Cards, its rank,…

Peeking in the Shadows: Crafting a Book of Shadows and Light

This month continues a series of exploration about Our Relationship to the Divine…. Our Relationship to the Divine Part Three: WHAT will I offer? …. The Divine flows within me. The Limitless All supports me. All Beings of Spirit and Essence are my teachers. I AM the corporeal out-picturing of the Divine’s desire… One of the first concerns that many have in their quest for connection to a particular Deity is what they will be able to offer in return for the gifts of a Divine Being. In times of old, offerings were an expected component of any interaction or wished for interaction with a Deity. And, in many…

    An Irreverent Lughnasadh

Lughnasadh is my least ‘religiously’ observed festival. That seems pretty irreverent for a practicing Pagan, I guess, but my reasons are thus: Lughnasadh tends to fall at the time of year that I am busiest; either with my lovely children, or with camping, or catching up with friends, or all of the above. It can be a busy time in the garden, and it also falls right bang in the middle of the first section of the foraging season. We’ve just run out of wild elder flowers and are moving onto raspberries and blackberries, some of Lugh’s favourite offerings, although that’s from personal experience and not attested to in Irish…

Interview with Nick Ribera – Creator of The Goracle

Interview with Artist Nick Ribera     The Goracle is an oracle deck created by artist Nick Ribera that explores the beauty and power to be found in pain and death, and their role in learning intimately about the self. After reviewing card samples of The Goracle, I was excited to speak to Nick and find out more about this remarkable Oracle deck. Raushanna (RA): This is quite a striking and intense Oracle deck! My first question is the obvious one: what inspired you to create The Goracle? Nick Ribera (NR): Hello Raushanna! Thanks so much for speaking with me today. We’ll have to go back to 2018. I have…

This book, by the wonderful Jhenah Telyndru, is part of the Pagan Portals series by Moon Books, and is a perfect addition to this series. I was particularly intrigued by how Ms. Telyndru’s narrative has been influenced by the rights of women – then…

    Witch and Popcorn

Review of The Guilt Trip     Seth Rogen fans got an extra special treat when he teamed up with the goddess Barbara Streisand as a mother/ son pair in the hysterically funny film The Guilt Trip. You can watch the side-splitting funny trailer here:     In the film, Rogen plays Andy Brewster, an extremely intelligent under achiever who has more education than accomplishments. He’s spent every penny of his inheritance to invent, and produce his so-called wonder cleaning product, ScieoClean- and doesn’t understand why nobody is buying it. He’s chronically single, lives in a lousy apartment, and doesn’t even have any friends. Not only that, he’s chronically…
