Book Review – Psychic Witch: A Metaphysical Guide to Meditation, Magick & Manifestation by Mat Auryn

Book Review Psychic Witch A Metaphysical Guide to Meditation, Magick & Manifestation by Mat Auryn 312 Pages     Psychic Witch: A Metaphysical Guide to Meditation, Magick & Manifestation by Mat Auryn sets the tone for its intention with a beautiful dedication and quote in memory of Raven Grimassi   … “ If the art of Witchcraft can be reduced to one aspect, it would be the achieving of altered states of consciousness…On a deeper level, we can add trance (induced by whatever means) and psychic development. Such states of consciousness allow the Witch not only to perceive things behind their veneer but also to reshape reality in an experiential…

    Gael Song

The Sacredness of Silence, the Goddess in Everything I watch so many of my friends, relatives, and neighbors race through the holiday season; creating elaborate rituals, shopping, wrapping, cooking, one detail after another to be attended to. And I recall doing the same myself when my children were young, before I began my druid path. And so, this month, I decided to write an article about the spirit nourishment that slowness and silence have brought to my life, especially during the winter season. As a druid, time in nature is food and drink to my soul. I couldn’t live without it. The first thing I notice whenever I take a…

    GoodGod!

Meet the Gods: Ullr     Merry meet. Winter is upon us, and up north, in the land of the Norse, was the cold-loving god Ullr. Norse mythology called him the God of Snow. Son of Six and stepson of Thor, Ullr became the patron saint of skiers. It is said he’s an expert skater, skier and hunter who moved around the world, covering the land with snow. References indicate he was an important deity: it is said he ruled while Odin was temporarily exiled and he occurs in many place names, but little else is known.   (Ullr. Book Review – Divination Conjure Style: Reading Cards, Throwing Bones and Other Forms of Household Fortune-Telling by Starr Casas

Book Review Divination Conjure Style Reading Cards, Throwing Bones and Other Forms of Household Fortune-Telling by Starr Casas 256 Pages     Conjure magic is not my thing. Nor is Hoodoo or Voodoo or Santeria – I don’t come from these cultures – so I don’t practice these religions anymore than I practice Islam or Hinduism or Evangelical Christianity. However, I love reading about any religion and their practices and finding the commonalities that many religions – and cultures – possess. Because as different as all religions are, they are all very much alike in many basic ways. And – as a person who will try any kind of divinatory…

Hello, Brightest Blessings I wanted to share a January Full, Frost  Moon tarot spread this month. January Full moon Has several Names: old moon, chaste moon, cold moon, quiet moon, snowmoon. Pixie Witch Kitchen

Everything Under the Moon Soup   This is a great recipe I came up with a few years ago playing around in the kitchen. Isn’t that how all great recipes are made? It’s a very tasty, healthy, thick soup that you can eat by itself or with any meal. I like to serve it with baked chicken or pork chops. I named it everything under the Moon for a reason, as you can add anything to it. Ingredients 7 carrots 5 potatoes 1 white onion 4 celery stalks 2 zucchinis 1 tsp. minced garlic 1/2 cup red lentils 1 can (10oz) diced tomatoes with chilies 1/2 green cabbage (optional) 2…

Book Review The Hidden Meaning of Birds A Spiritual Field Guide Explore the Symbology and Significance of These Divine Winged Messengers by Arin Murphy-Hiscock 240 Pages When first seeing this book, I was instantly reminded of my many Peterson’s Field Guide books to birds of various locations. Like the reliable Peterson’s series, The Hidden Meaning of Birds provides illustrations, physical descriptions, preferred environments and habitat ranges for over 50 birds from around the world. It also invites us to connect with birds as divinatory messengers, opening us up to another layer of relationship with them. I have watched birds as message bringers for a long time. I’ve gone on omen…
