Reality or Delusional?   As some of you may know I am a member of an eclectic coven and as being such we have an assignment each week of journaling, an assignment that I find very beneficial in expanding our understanding of the world and our society as well as guiding us to find our Truth. When we meet as a coven each week we share what we have written as the assignment requires us to journal three days a week contemplating an assigned topic or answering a question we have been presented with for that day. This week our topics were ‘reality’, ‘imagination/magick’ and ‘inspiration’. They spurred great conversation…

Where Does Your Loyalty Lay?   Loyalty can be defined as the state of unswerving faithfulness, devotion or allegiance; adhering to a promise or duty that an individual has to an organization, group, cause or person.   Loyalty can be a noble thing. There are a number of causes we can be loyal to. Loyalty to our family and/or friends is commendable but perhaps we should ask ourselves – how far is too far? How much are we willing to give of ourselves to keep faithful and what are we willing to sacrifice? Are we willing to give up our own personal truth in the name of devotion to someone or…

Abandoned and Broken : Soul Retrieval “Take all the time you need to heal emotionally. Moving on doesn’t take a day. It takes a lot of little steps to be able to break free of your broken self …” At first read you may think that this quote is a good piece of advice. I admit that when I first read it on facebook I thought to myself, “Yeah. That’s right. It’s that old cliché ‘time heals all wounds’.” But after reading again I found that I had to strongly disagree with the quote. In order to explain why I feel this way I need to first explain the idea…

Once Together – Always Together Magick, which has been practiced and believed in for thousands of years, is based upon laws, which the practitioners believe in or at the least understand. These laws are not legislative laws but are recognized as the governing structure on the reason that magick behaves as it does. There are twenty-one of these laws but I would like to focus on the seventh law: The Law of Contagion. The Law of Contagion states that things, which have once been in contact with each other, continue to act on each other at a distance even after physical contact has been severed. So everyone and everything you…

In Love and Light The phrase “in love and light” is a New Age sentiment common within the modern pagan community. I’m sure you’ve read it and if you interact with individuals within the community then you’ve heard it more than once but, really, what does it mean? What does this phrase convey? I found that when I asked numerous individuals I received as many different responses as people I questioned.  For some ‘in love and light’ means; “with love and positivity”,  “sending energy through love”, “being wrapped in love and light from the Universe”, “unconditional love and light of The Goddess and God”, “peace and love” as well as,…

Lullaby of Avalon In Avalon they honor Mother Goddess Following the path of those before them Stepping past the blossoming flora That lay below the high fertile hills While the young maidens In the silent groves Casting magick circles. Midnight black ravens caw as they fly Priestesses under a brilliant shine Harvesting herbs from the gardens Alongside the Lady of the Lake Hear hoof beats From the great horned stag Leading the wild hunt of Imbolc. O Great Mother, Goddess of the earth and of fertility, Sweet voiced mistress of the moon and sorcery, Let be your wisdom, your blessings, Protection and love My eyes close in sleep. Comforted in…

Sophia This is noon time, this is mine, tranquility – The sound of the gong, An echo, intelligent note Caressing with the wisdom Of what psychic visions will appear in my mind. I hold her in my arms. It is happiness. The full tone saturates my brain. Her small arms encircle my neck. It is in this place where I encounter, This astral meadow that seems to breathe And allows us to meet Another time And space again – chakra glows in my chest. One emotional tear makes her real. At first my mind will not comprehend It rebels against concepts told not real, illogical. I hold my breath so…

In Perfect Love and Perfect Trust The phrase “in perfect love and perfect trust” is used when entering Circle (for ritual, healing, magick or other reason). When we utter that phrase we are stating that we have an unconditional love and trust for all who are present with us within Circle. And that includes ourselves. We are able to set aside our ego or physical self so that we can tap into Universal Source or the group mind of the coven during Circle – a time when we are between the worlds, beyond the bounds of time, where night and day, birth and death, joy and sorrow meet as one.…

Are You Gifted? Recently, I was having a discussion with a friend concerning the concept of gifts and talents; are the words interchangeable or do they mean different things? And while we didn’t really come to a conclusion it left me contemplating the idea. I found that it was more complex than I first imagined and many people have set ideas on this concept that I don’t personally subscribe to. The first thing I considered was what each word meant. For this I turned to my trusted friend, Merriam-Webster. She is always my go-to gal when contemplating the meaning of words. I strongly believe that words and names hold power…

For Erin (12/8/69-9/18/11) Yes, I miss you, yes, I do, All the time – time that flew Away like a butterfly On a warm summer’s day As children in the neighborhood play. That demon monster it killed you You died before the time was true. Beautiful and gentle goddess, An Irish Rose who came and went A lovely lady – heaven sent. In middle school, in high school, Our young garden bloomed Cherished, cultivated and nurtured. Seeds joyfully sown year and again. My dear close friend. Taught others by her example. My pagan beliefs she did not trample Unjudged yet foreign to her own. I – a silent witness though…
